Vuolo's Impact
Vuolo is part of a new district-wide general education initiative for students in grades K-5 called the Adventures Program. This newly developed education system allows Vuolo to serve young students who struggle in a traditional learning setting. As a comfort dog, she helps with emotional therapy by giving kids the ability to express their thoughts and emotions in a comfortable way.
Vuolo visits each classroom for 30 minutes to engage both physically and mentally with the students. They can read to her, cuddle with her, and openly talk to her. As a facility dog, she helps with emotional therapy by giving kids the ability to express their thoughts in a positive and comfortable way. While maintaining educational improvement, Vuolo leaves her students (and staff) feeling comforted and safe.
